I ain't never been to Nepal. I ain't ever gonna go, too.

But I have a lot of interest in the folks that live in that part of the world, and their cultures and religions.  Always have had.  One of the most interesting things about the people that live there, of course, is that they are all a bunch of lunatics in one way or another.

How so, you ask?  Check this out, I reply, in a  somewhat more challenging tone than I had intended.

You don't think that's somewhat odd on all sorts of levels?

First, it's no sacrifice at all, it seems to me.  They distribute the meat from all the animals killed to the village folk, sell the hides and all that at a  good profit...I mean, a sacrifice is when you give something up, not eat and make money.  So that part is  a bunch of Hindu shit.

But then you have to wonder if these folks are so dumb that they think sacrificing a buffalo equates, somehow, with a standing rib roast that the goddess never receives.

Plus, it sure seems like, if you were gonna piss off a goddess by trying to fool her into believing you were actually making a sacrifice, the goddess of power might not be the one, you know?  Of course, maybe she's the stupid one, right?  Maybe she thinks having food to eat and a full bank account is some sort of sacrifice.

See?  I told you. Even when they don't make any fucking sense, they're pretty interesting.

I just read more of your blog. Your foot does not seem to have healed :( Sending happiness and love your way. Happy nothanksgiving to you and Jen.

  4. That's a really nice thing for you to say, Vrinda.

Kuala Lumpur is fun to say, though I really know nothing about the place, other than very generally. Now that I know someone there, I'll be motivated to find out more...LOL

No, my foot, and hip, are pretty well done for. On the other hand, though, it affords me the time to sit here all day blathering...LOL!

Come on back any time, Vrinda, it's nice knowing you're around.
